The Sussex Black Police Association (SBPA) was formed in 2001 to assist Sussex Police in:
&bull Improving the working environment of Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) staff by protecting the rights and interest of those employed within Sussex Police.
&bull Promoting racial harmony and equality of service to the black and ethnic minority communities of Sussex, thereby assisting Sussex Police in delivering a fair and equitable service to all members of the community.

The Sussex Black Police Association is a non-political organisation and we do not seek to supersede any other statutory body or staff association.

Our objectives are to:
&bull Ensure the recruitment, progression and retention of BME staff.
&bull To establish role models for BME staff and and the wider community to encourage them to join Sussex Police.
&bull To bring about cultural change in Sussex Police to promote the career aspirations of BME staff and to increase the representation across all ranks and disciplines within Sussex Police.
&bull To provide an effective understanding of the issues of equality and the promotion of diversity.
&bull To achieve recognition of the SBPA as an integral part of the solution to effective policing within Sussex.
&bull To promote positive action and specific courses in support of BME staff.

The Don't Panic Pack is a unique free publication found in carefully selected independent shops, bars, universities and art spaces. Also distributed outside alternative music events and launch parties, it contains all sorts of arts and culture goodies and information for cities all around the world with the emphasis on design and the future of our planet.

At the heart of the pack find the Don't Panic Poster where a rotation of established and unknown, up and coming artists design around an issue that affects culture across the world. On this site find an interactive online magazine to further explore the issue raised on the poster where you can contribute to the debate with text, graphic design, illustration, photography, animation, music and film for all to see.

Pure Mint Recordings kindly contributed towards the BHHF Educational Programme after BHHF funding was cut. If it wasn't for them many of the sessions would not be taking place and many young people would not be given the opportunity of access to the arts.

Eastpak is an urban lifestyle brand that supports numerous bands, artists and athletes worldwide.

Rebus Collective was born to provide art lovers with wearable canvass. With influences ranging from Graffiti, Urban Street Art and Fine Arts, a collection was designed for winter 07. Having only been established in November o6, Rebus Collective have now 6 stockiest predominantly in Cornwall but ranging up to Bristol. They look to expand and start venturing nationally by end of the summer.

Rebus Collective is not only about the clothing but simply uses it as a leg up for bigger things and hopes to expand to gets it’s fingers into various different pots, from music collaborations, Productions, Paint Jams, Custom design boards from Surfboards to Snowboards and even Cars! It is all about the culture for us, and the passion, if you love doing something why stop, why not make it your life. We also encourage others to get involved weather it be as a sponsored riders like Kieran Whitefield (our rebus collective trials rider) or part of our graffiti writers team we are happy to help and promote, it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you love it.

It all starts with an idea lets see how far we can take it.

Zebra Traffic are a hip hop label based in Brighton, but their success has travelled far and wide. Artists such as Phi-Life Cypher, Life and Sweden’s Up Hygh, have attracted interest in the label across the world. The label acts Dirty Diggers and Rup have shown the direction and style of the label, reflecting the diversity of production sounds of their sister label Tru Thoughts (home of Quantic, Alice Russell, Nostalgia 77, TM Juke, The Bamboos and The Quantic Soul Orchestra) while reflecting the rhymes and reflections of UK hip hop.

A label who may be found with a track about Bush n’ Blair alongside a track about the wilderness or going down the pub. There is no room for hip hop posturing, just great tunes and a love of music.

The label is run by Tom Simpson and Robert Luis, who both A&R and present the label’s “The Dugout Radio Show” on Brighton’s Juice 107.2 (Saturdays 12am-2am) or available anytime at www.totallyradio.com.
